A house in a quiet part of town, with a rooftop terrace and a view right around the bay.

The largest of the three and the only one that is a house rather than a flat. It sits on Travessa de São João de Deus, in a different part of Funchal. Quiet, away from the bustle. Two bedrooms, a large living room and a well-equipped kitchen, for four people without anyone getting in anyone’s way.

The rooftop terrace is what nobody forgets: the view goes all the way around, and at New Year it is one of the best places in Funchal to watch the fireworks without leaving the house. In return it asks for some willingness. You can walk into town, but the streets are steep, and a car cannot pull up to the door.

We had a great stay at Casa Santiago II and felt very much at home. Everything was very clean and the apartment well equipped. You get into town quickly and the view is wonderful. Highly recommended!

A lovely, spotless house with a wonderful roof terrace, in a quiet area. And the host, Pedro, is very friendly and helpful. We can really recommend this place for a great holiday in Funchal.

The house sits in a pleasant, quiet neighbourhood and is generously sized. The roof terrace was the best place to watch the legendary fireworks. We had a wonderful 360° view. You can walk into the centre quickly. Communication was always fast and easy, and we even got back a cable we had forgotten. From us: an absolute recommendation. Just one note: the taxi cannot reach the door, you have to roll the suitcases a little uphill; and if you want to walk into town, you mustn't be afraid of steep alleys.
