A quiet first floor just above the old town, with a balcony where the city runs down to the sea.
On Avenida Santiago Menor, first floor, with a lift and covered parking. Two things worth more in Funchal than they sound. Inside there is room for three without crowding, a well-equipped kitchen and a living room that opens onto the balcony.
It is the balcony that brings people back. Late in the day you catch a slice of sea between the rooftops and hear the city at a distance rather than at the door. The Monte cable car and the restaurant lanes of the old town are just below, downhill.

It was our second stay at the apartment, we came back again this year because we enjoyed Madeira so much last year. The apartment is lovely, in a great location and spotlessly clean. It's a short walk to the cable cars, town, and restaurants.
Great stay! Apartment was immaculately clean. We enjoyed the balcony view of the city and the water, and very much enjoyed the wine and cookies! Everything was very smooth, and we appreciated the flexibility when our flight was delayed.
Apartment exactly as in the photos, spacious, in impeccable condition. The hosts are extremely kind. They managed to get us grandstand tickets for the Flower Festival parade when there were none left online. It sits above the old town, by the Monte cable car and the little streets full of restaurants. Highly recommended.
